Ricky Garni – (garni)

Ricky Garni

Pillow

I read a book
shaped like a pillow
the color of a cherry

When people say
“You look like a cherry”
I say, “You must

be talking about
my book.” But then
I look

At my face, and it’s true
I do. And my book is my
book—it’s all about me

And I grow faint—
I want to rest
but I can’t find
my pillow.
