Why I Was so Glad to See Her



she swam
skipped noon-time talks
licked the waves
not a dancer
stalked the plastic buoy-rope

The Seagull

white
wet
snapping waves
crack the perfect sand

see the points
gray
brown
black
and tan
form one seamless
beige
