Christina Lopez – Two Poems

Christina Lopez

Two Poems

Amor es ciego

When I told her it was
over,
she wiped her
tears away with her finger
as if she wanted to dig my eyes out.

Dysqualified

Your loogie tasted like salt in my eye
When I told you
Your new Hummer
Put you over the resource limit
And you no longer qualified for food stamps.
