Sarah Kobrinsky – Two Poems

Sarah Kobrinsky

Two Poems

Let’s Set Our Differences Aside

Let’s arrive at the Truth.
Whoever gets there first should send
The other one a postcard:
A beach scene, a cobblestone street,
A city skyline alive at night.
Darling, I’m here.
How I wish you were beautiful!

The smell of jasmine and wet cement

The smell of rotten leaves and uncertainty

The smell of I told you so

The smell of You should’ve known better

The smell of I could’ve been a contender

The smell of Honey, let’s think it over

The smell of newspaper

The smell of rain
