Avery Burns

aether, Ambulatory Refrains, and Bay Area Poetry

Avery Burns across two issues

Avery Burns is a Bay Area poet with a long history in the San Francisco poetry community. His work has extended through small presses, readings, curatorial projects, and the Canessa Park Reading Series. Small Press Traffic records two later collections, including Expectations Asunder.

Issue 4 preserves three short poems from aether in full. Issue 31 records a later entry from Ambulatory Refrains; that poem text is absent from the surviving page.

Bay Area poetry and later work

Small Press Traffic documents Burns’s long connection to its bookstore and board, his work with the Canessa Park Reading Series, and later collections. Litseen records him hosting the Canessa Reading Series, part of a sustained role in the Bay Area poetry community.
