William Allegrezza

Poet, Editor, and Scholar of Contemporary Poetry

William Allegrezza is a poet, editor, scholar, and professor whose work spans contemporary poetry, creative writing, literary scholarship, and publishing. Indiana University Northwest lists him as Associate Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Chancellor’s Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies. His university profile records nineteen books and identifies American poetry and creative writing among his areas of expertise.

His recent books include A Glass for the High Dive, the collaborative poetry collection Prunes and Prisms, and Step Below: Selected Poems 2000–2015. Across his writing, editing, and teaching, Allegrezza has remained closely engaged with contemporary poetry in the Americas and with the small-press and magazine cultures through which much experimental writing circulates.
